A short test that is easy to repeat
Start at a comfortable output volume. Pick a sound, turn Sound On, and use the physical keyboard while this page has focus. On a phone or tablet, tap the active keys on screen.
Try a short line made from letters and spaces:
make a little room for a different sound
Then try Space, Enter and Backspace several times. Those keys can stand out more than the letters during ordinary work. Choose a second profile and repeat the same sequence before changing your device volume.
A letter press or a tap on an active screen key can also start the preview. Sound Off disarms it; pressing a letter or tapping a key starts it again. Leaving the page ends this page's keyboard preview.
Which keys can I test here?
The browser preview covers A–Z, Space, Enter and Backspace. Dimmed keys show the keyboard layout but do not play in this preview. They are not reporting a fault in your physical keyboard.
Normal text fields and browser shortcuts are excluded from the page's keyboard handling. If you are typing into an email field or the address bar, move focus back to the preview first.
A held key does not generate a stream of repeat sounds. Press and release it to hear the available press and release samples. A screen tap models a short press and release.
This is a sound preview, not a typing-speed test or a diagnosis of your keyboard's switches.

The names below are directions for listening. A category label does not establish how a recording was made or how your own keys will feel.

What the drawing and waveform show
The cutaway illustrates the path from a key event to sample playback. It does not inspect the hardware inside your keyboard or measure a switch's force.
The waveform describes the selected audio slice. Each displayed envelope is scaled to its own peak, so equally tall drawings do not prove that two samples are equally loud. Listen at your normal level instead of choosing by the size of the graphic.
Playback also includes a small level variation between presses. This page is designed for auditioning a typing sound, not for making calibrated loudness or latency measurements.
If you cannot hear a sample
Try an active screen key once and check the Sound On state. Confirm that the browser or tab is not muted and that the intended headphones or speakers are selected by your device.
The first audition loads that pack's preview files. A blocked or interrupted download can prevent playback. If one profile does not load, try another and return to it after checking the connection.
This page does not read your microphone or your call application's audio-sharing settings. Those settings determine whether a call or recording includes audio from your computer.
